External Transfers vs. Popmoney

When you need to move money or pay people, you can send, receive, and set up recurring payments all within Online Banking or the Columbia CU app using two methods:

  1. External Transfers – Set up one-time and recurring transfers between your Columbia CU account and accounts you hold elsewhere.

  2. Popmoney – Send, request, and receive money electronically with the recipient’s email address or phone number.

  • Interface with Intuit Quicken Software for free to easily import your Columbia banking records into your budget software
  • Alerts and notifications for low balances, loan payment reminders, check clearances, and more

  • Download the Columbia Credit Union app to use “check deposit” with your phone camera
  • Available for personal account holders who are at least 18 years old, in good standing, have an active checking and an email address on file
  • Mobile Deposits received Monday through Saturday by 5 p.m. will receive immediate access to $225 of the checks you deposit and the rest will be available to you later the same day. Mobile Deposits received after 5 p.m., Sundays or on holidays will still have immediate access to $225 and the rest will be available the following business day
  • There’s no limit on the number of checks you can deposit and there’s no fee—but there is a daily dollar limit and 7-day and 30-day rolling limits; checks that exceed the dollar limit can be deposited at a branch or ATM
  • Checks exceeding limits can be deposited at a branch or ATM, or mailed to P.O. Box 324 Vancouver, WA 98666
  • Once you have confirmed the deposited funds have been credited to your account, securely store the check for 14 days before destroying it

Quicken helps you better manage your money, balance your checkbook, track spending habits and bank online with ease. It can be purchased from local software retailers or online.

A layer of protection in our on-going fraud monitoring program to keep your debit and credit cards secure.

  • If we detect suspicious activity on your card, you’ll receive a text message from the 5-digit number 37268 with details about the suspected transaction. All you have to do is respond to the text to confirm the transaction.
  • If you indicate the transaction is fraud, you’ll receive another message with a number to call for follow-up. If not, you’re all set—the system will mark the transaction as legitimate and you can get on with your day.
  • If we have your cell number on file, you are auto-enrolled to receive text alerts.
  • To help avoid text message fraud, remember that any fraud related call you receive from Columbia Credit Union and our related fraud call centers will NEVER ask for any personally identifiable information such as card numbers, online banking credentials, PINs, card expiration dates, or CV2 codes.
